RYCB Association
Parents of Band members are members of the Richmond Youth Concert Band Association, a non-profit society registered in BC. The Association is also open to past Band members and members of the community who do not have children in the Richmond Youth Concert Band.
The purpose of the Association is to support the Band by taking care of administrative and financial matters including registration, as well as organizing events. The Association organizes the RYCB concerts such as the Witner Concert, the Spring Benefit Concert and the Music for Moms Concert, as well as a Clinician Workshop and other team-building activities for the students. In addition, the Association provides bursaries and scholarships for Band members.
The Association meets monthly at Palmer Secondary School during the Band practice time. All parents of Band members are encouraged to be active in the Association and attend meetings. RYCB depends on volunteers. Volunteering provides an opportunity to support the band, get to know each other and build a stronger community.
